World of Warcraft Server Queue and Lag
Published November 24, 2004
Dear Blizzard Entertainment,

Blizzards Response concerning Server Queues, in game lag, and game crashes:

Unfortunately, if player populations was evenly distributed across all servers, we would not have any such issues. The problem is that players are congregating to a small number of servers while leaving others relatively light.

If you have the option, please try playing on another server in a different time zone. You should see no queues.

Our response to Blizzard:

“What YOU need to understand is that we are no longer FORTUNATE to play for free. We are now your CUSTOMER BASE. That means that *WE* do not have to do ANYTHING. You do.

Period.

Now, what that is, is completely YOUR responsibility. However it *IS* in fact your RESPONSIBILITY to make this game playable without issues such as LAG or QUEUEING.

I am sorry if this post seems BRASH but I am absolutely appalled that you claim the problem to be that PLAYERS are congregating to servers. Congratulations -- the RESULT is not a player issue, it's a Blizzard issue.

Last time that I checked, I had no power to make more servers available or to have created a more satisfying system BEFORE releasing.

FINAL WORD. And I only say this to emphasize how IMPORTANT it is to a PAYING consumer.

YOU, and YOUR COMPANY are at 110% responsibility for EVERYTHING concerning your product. To say it's the PLAYERS fault makes me seriously question your COMMITMENT to CUSTOMER SERVICE.”

As a company you cannot expect people to PAY for a service and then not render that service available. YOUR negligence is costing people MONEY. Restitution is in order in the form of a REFUND or a FREE 30 day extension to the already free 30 days allotted.

Fix it.

Thanks.
