Free character transfers aren't enough, because you never know who will go with you and who won't. Fix the problem, cluster your servers right, re-distribute your network, and stop making excuses. Also, frickin' update how new players are assigned to servers.

After suffering from this many times, i agree. When i want to play, the server should be up and no lag. I understand maintenance, but not out of maintenance times.

seeing as blizzard assigns the players to the server and tends to always assign them to aggramar, the fix lies entirely with blizzard.

I don't claim to know a lot about the technology that makes WOW possible. I was waiting for over an hour last night and couldn't get into the game. What kills me is that I am on a server that Blizz assigned to me. You would think that if they assigned you the server, then as a new subscriber, that server would be able to accomodate the volume for a reasonable period of time. Not so. I imagaine that if Blizzard actually sees this petition, they will spew a lot of technical mumbo-jumbo about how they can't do anything about it. I have a hard time believing that there is nothing that can be done to support your existing customer base. Oh well. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah I also agree "the customer is always right". Blizz should fine a solution. I decided to see what others thought when I just got hit with queue problems myself. I waited 20mins to get on. Then forget to plug my laptop power cord in and once returning from hibernation I'm greeted with another 30 min queue. Do something blizz plz.

I just joined a NEW server, and now there is a 4 hour queue on it!!! How is this my fault?

I downloaded the trial a few days ago and what I've done the most is waiting in queue for hours. I used the recommended realm which is not even in my time zone. The game itself is fun but having to wait in queue for hours before I can play doesn't encourage me to register monthly. At least if you could export your character to another realm but no. It is already a waste of time that to play video games even though I love them :P but waiting to play a video game is even worse. Blizzard should seriously do about it. If you bought that product you have to right to use it wherever and whenever you want.

I've been waiting for 50 minutes to join on a server that 10 days ago was "new" and I was recommended to try that one as I am a new customer. I watch the queue that I'm in get LARGER somehoe and the time I have to wait to access my character and the world I'm on get LONGER. I'm very unimpressed.

Queues are a problem, especially when you can't choose the server you play on, which would definately help in distributing levels of players in all servers and keep things on a lower tone. I wholeheartedly support this.

I pay for my 5 kids to play this game - and your "issues" with login servers, authentification is denying the service I pay for, and I pay you a lot. If you want less populated servers take a lesson from EQ and let the people move their characters for a fee = unless it's your fault they can't play there (which is currently the situation). This is an mmporg, the children, and adults want to be with their friends.

You want to know what might fix the problem better than blaming the paying customers, Blizzard? Allow us to move the characters we've invested time in to these light servers.
