Tell President Levin to take a stand on the CCP's involvement in the Darfur Genocide

President Levin,
The undersigned hereby ask you to take a stand against the Chinese Communist
Party's role in the Darfur genocide. China continues to offer diplomatic
protection to the Sudanese government, and refuses to support targeted economic
sanctions against this genocidal regime. China National Petroleum Corporation
is the largest stakeholder in the two largest oil consortia in Sudan. In
short, although the Chinese Communist Party occupies a position of unrivaled
influence over the Sudanese government, its silence in the face of genocide
enables unspeakable atrocities to continue unimpeded.
Yale's unique relationship with China places our institution in a difficult
position. While the relationship benefits both parties, silence from the Yale
community is tantamount to allowing the Chinese government to continue,
unhindered, its deadly commerce with the perpetrators of genocide.
As members of the Yale community, we ask you to represent us and speak out
against the Chinese government's role in the genocide in Darfur. It is
possible that our voice will not effect significant change, but we refuse to be
silent.
