Yazoo were one of the finest exponents of synthpop in the 1980s. Alison Moyet’s warm,
emotional vocals set against the steely perfection of Vince Clarke’s electronic backings produced music that still stands the test of time.

Almost twenty-five years on, both members of Yazoo are still successfully making great music and command a large following of devoted fans.

We would love to see Mute recognise one of their label’s most affectionately-remembered acts by releasing YAZOO: THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION.

This would be a two-disc re-release along the lines of Liza Minelli’s Results or Kirsty MacColl’s Titanic Days. The first disc would be a ‘best of’ collection of properly remastered tracks (including all the singles this time).

The second disc would be ‘extras’ such as the never-released theme of “Get Set”, demos, alternative takes, live recordings and of course DVD versions of the original videos.

Some updated artwork with commemorative booklet with rare, unused photos would be the perfect accompaniment to a product, which we as fans of Alison Moyet, Vince Clarke, Yazoo, Yaz or just great synthpop would go out and buy.

After 25 years, it's about time the back catalogue of Yazoo was remastered in all its glory. Alison and Vince have had plenty of success since, but these recordings mark their first true impact on the music scene. A CD and DVD package would be fitting tribute!

It would be great to have all things Yazoo have done on ether a double-CD or even an double-CD/DVD-package.

Clarke has had two major high points in his career, IMO. The first one was with the 'Speak & Spell' and the 'Upstairs' album. This needs to be (carefully) remastered and a DVD with interviews, vids and performances (particularly the 'Chegger's Plays Pop performance of 'Only You!)would be great!

I support the petition. This year is "Upstairs At Eric's" 25th anniversary and it could be remastered and re-issued in the same way of Depeche Mode's ones. Including the 12" mixes and a DVD with the videos. A remastered "You and Me Both" would be awesome too. Is anyone at Mute Records reading?

Even though YAZOO had such a short life as a band, their influence of the early electro sound was massive, and can still be heard today, not only for Vince Clarke's brilliant input but also Alison 'Alf' Moyet's strong vocal, a definitive collection (presented in the way of Depeche Mode's recent re-issues) is something that just needs to be done, hopefully in the not too distant future Vince and Alison will reform Yazoo for another album? Mute you have the power!

A collection is long overdue - while many international bands have had their (less worthy) material poured over by record execs in every format thinkable, so many British bands get lost in the morass. The early 80s were an exciting and pioneering period for music which the public has more than shown admiration for. Get with the programme.

it is important for the rememberance and acknowledgement of the artists in their fine moments. I believe it would also be financially beneficial, since these artists records continually prove profitable in their timeless works. Thank you for your time reading this, and consideration to release these classics. Remember - for every 1 fan that took the time to write in this petition, are 1,000 waiting to purchase.....A million fans cannot be wrong. ;)

Yes I definitely too support this petition because Yazoo were the finest and msot original synthpop act of the 80's and were my main influence on synthesizers. www.myspace.com/steedie1

It's way over due and really should happen. I fully support this petition as it's about time MUTE released a DVD like this.

A DEFINATIVE COLLECTION OF YAZOO'S WORK IS LONG OVERDUE, TO ALSO INCLUDE ALL ORIGINAL EXTENDED/REMIX VERSIONS. I ALSO THINK THAT CONTEMPORARY MIXES WITH CAREFULLY CHOSEN PRODUCES WOULD BE BRILLIANT, INCLUDING MIXES OF NON SINGLE RELEASE CLASSICS, I.E. BAD CONNECTION, GOODBYE 70'S, WALK AWAY FROM LOVE ETC. I THINK THAT ANY NEW REMIXES MUST PRESERVE THE FULL VOCAL THOUGH!
