It has come to my attention that at least 4 different schools have decided to make their yearbooks into other things other than a book. My son and daughter are both attending a public school and are very upset. My wife's school has decided to make their yearbooks into CD's. My children's school has decided to possibly cancel the yearbook and have a compiled photo of all the graduates only for the grade 8 classes. If you have any names of other schools that are changing the yearbooks' format, would you please post them onto this petition so I can add them to a list. I think that firstly, they shouldn't even think of cancelling a yearbook. Secondly, it should stay a book beause many kids like it that way and I think the cost of paper shouldn't override the uncountable worth of a memory.

I think that they should never change the yearbook.I have 2 girls about to start school, I want them to enjoy the special memories you get from them as I still have! You can even have your closest friends created in school sign a cd!!! those more meaningful memories would be lost!!

Nampa Senior High School has taken it upon themselves to change the senior photos to boys wearing bowties and girls shawls. This is without the imput of parents and students. This is unfair and my voice does count!!!!!

Congratulations to the William Berczy Public School. Now if only we can have more signatures on this petition so it will convince "our schools".

Apparently, my school, William Berczy Public School, was going to have a CD yearbook, but now we are having a yearbook.

I am unaware if the work to rule aspects will interfere with teachers that are willing to give up time to help with making a book, but I can check up on that and I will post on this again. I think that their memories should be put as a priority just as we did when we were in school. I think that this is a very important subject because it will affect how it will be done in the future. My children really want a yearbook. I will encourage them to post on this petition as well so it doesn't seem that only parents can post on this petition. A yearbook is the better choice, no matter the cost. I think that fundraisers (etc.) can be used and it will be a very good decision that the students will adore you for.

I think memories are worth that little extra to make a yearbook. Besides, I think they should stick to what has been established for so long.

My son, who is attending a school in Richmond Hill (grade 7), told me to post on this. I think the downside of having such a formal petition may be the fact that it discourages some students to post because of its professionality. I do agree that a CD has many downsides to it such as being scratched. A Yearhook is definitely the way to go.

Its understandable how my husband has started a petition. Mr. McGrath, who is the principal of our school in Mississauga has decided to make our yearbook a CD. However, many parents and students alike are against the idea. Why Mr. McGrath made the decision was unbeknownst to students until recently when he clarafied it. He spoke about the cost of printing and the effeciency of the CD. Being the Lab Teacher of the school, I was aware of the many problems a CD would rise but of course I haven't spoken on it. I would like to encourage posts on this petition because it is really for the greater good. Especially because it has to do with very precious sentimental things - such as memories.
