its about time these people evolved and showed some respect.the animal kingdom has enough of a struggle surviving the pollution without being battered deliberatly by man.
Besides the curel impact on the life itself, has any impact on the ecosystem been studied? Year after year the damage will catch up with us, the natural balance will be thrown off kilter, and the entire ecosystem will be paying for the selfishness of the humans again.
This is disgusting. The clothing industry really has a lot to answer for with this kind of barbaric behaviour. Fur is NOT fashionable, nor is it superior to man made fabrics that don't involve mindless slaughter.

Harp seals breed on ice floes and with global warming these are dissappearing. For mant seasons there have been fewer and fewer pups and they are still being 'culled'. This must be stopped before they become endangered.
How can it be right to kill innocent animals, be it for money or pleasure? Animals kill for food ... if we kill for anything else, then we are worse than they are.

What kind of country is it that allows the brutal slaughter of so many thousands of helpless seal pups just so some narcissistic glamour puss can have a sealskin coat?
This hunt is inhumane, looses money for Canada and ignores the issue of Newfoundlands unemployment problem. It's time for Newfoundland to take responsibility for their economic problems and to stop a slaughter that may threaten the population of seals that is already subjected to global warming.
The annual seal hunt is a blight on Canada. It is an unacceptable disgrace. Until it is stopped, we must refuse to support the Canadian seafood industry.
I would hope that the Canada Government is allowing this to be done so as to control the Seal population and not out of greed. But then again I do not understand why the seal population must be controlled Mother Nature controlled the seals population for hundreds of years before man knew how to walk upright and she did a great job of it. However; the killing of baby seals does not control the population of seals. The older seals are the ones that are reproducing. If you must kill the seals let it be the older ones and the sickly ones not the new born. I would suggest that the Canadians monitor this action a lot closer, too make sure that what they say is true. That only the older seals are the ones that are being terminated.
So many times you hear people say "oh there is nothing we can do about it" or "that's the way it is." well i think if enough people ban together we can do something about it.
Being a taxpayer here In Canada I feel that this Is totally Inappropiate behavior and a terrible Injustice to the seals this behavior needs to stop perhaps there should be a referendum to see what this country really feels about It before spending taxpayers dollars not to mention how people feel about the government as whole
