That is a truly horrible and cruel event that I hope will be ended soon. The thought of helpless baby seals being beaten to death or being dragged half dead by boat hooks make me want to vomit.
This barbaric act should have been stopped a long time ago. We're supposed to be a progressive society when it comes to animal cruelty and ecological issues.
what an awful thing they do to the seals. my kids are sickened by this and i am outraged. maybe it might be part of their culture but find a way to do it that is not so inhumane and cruel.
I hereby request that the Canadian government end the cruel seal hunt -the largest slaughter of marine mammals on the planet. Sealers bludgeon the seals with clubs, drag conscious seals across the ice floes with boat hooks, and toss dead and dying animals into heaps, leaving their carcasses to rot because there is no market for their meat. Please stop the cruelty. This is a horrible practice . Try for one year not to slaughter these poor creature and see if they run amuck as the gov't claims. I'm sure the way the gov't and corporations are destroying the environment will do these poor seals in just fine.

I am opposed to the seal hunt, I have always been opposed, and I will always be. I speak for most Canadians when I say the hunt must end for good. Shame on our government for not listening to the majority. As the ice floes this year have melted early and thousands of pups have perished by drowning, it makes this years cull even more horrendous and hypocritical.
