Yoshimitsu is the man. He has so many good mix-ups and moves that help him compete with the overpowered characters you've made. If you tone him down he won't see any play. And who wants to design a character and moves for one that no one plays? That's like making another eddy or something...
Yoshi is a uniqe character. If they continue to nerf him he'll eventually be removed from the game. If he gets removed, it would be a great loss for this game series. He's the Nr1 character.
I'm number 34 in the pettion list and am just appauled. Yoshi shouldn't have been toned down at any part of the sries, it's just ridiculous to see every other character get stronger, faster and ridiculously stronger moves every time namco releases a new tekken. I say, STOP TONING YOSHI DOWN! (Excuse my caps. lol)
I support this petition!!
Yoshi had always been my No1 character and always will be. i didnt play tekken4&earlier versions of Tekken5 coz of what Namco did to Yoshi. Yoshi is the most unique character in Tekken probably even in video Game history. Who else would sit on their sword. Yoshi is so in the disadvantage right now. what used to be a proud character is now slowly beeing a push over. Please dont nerfe Yoshi.
yoshi doesnt need to be any more nerfed, but i think its too late for t6. anyway, i think the reason hes beefy in soulcal is because characters in that game are faster/stronger/versitile ,.. more. yea
but seriously stop nerfing yoshi i wouldnt play tekken if it wasnt for this character. Most of us will switch to 2d cuz of the flashyness =D (jk just me)
I support this petition, because Yoshi represents the essence of Tekken. he is one the most unique characters in all fighting games and adds to the very special status of this game.
It would be a mistake and great shame to tone down such an outstanding character!
I LOVE Yoshi!
because playing against high level opponents who use top tier characters is just an uphill battle with yoshi, what he needs is some safe mids that track and give frame advantage
because the Yo-man is one of the most unique characters to ever feature in a video game. However, if Namco continues to nerf him with every new Tekken, then Yoshi will start losing his fans, people will stop buying Tekken and in the end Namco will lose money. So yeah...!!! think about that Namco the next time you make a Tekken game. It might cost you!
Go Tenshi!
Rachis, true balance is a myth. Guilty Gear XX is the only fighting game that even comes close to that ideal, and it's still far from perfect. (Poor Zappa got the shaft, while characters like Sol and Eddie continue to kick ass).
With all due respect, if you knew anything about Tekken, you'd know that the Mishimas tend to dominate--although in T5, characters like Steve and Nina have risen in status. You'd also know that Yoshi has never been a top tier character in any Tekken game in existence. His T5 iteration was extremely promising, but now, if the latest Dark Resurrection reports are anything to go by, it looks as though Yoshimitsu may once again be unnecessarily weakened. He's unconventional, yes, but the same risk versus reward ratios that apply to all the other characters still apply to him. Without solid options for most situations, any character, no matter how unique or unpredictable, will be at a severe disadvantage. That's just the way it works.
Hopefully, Namco will get their act together and beef Yoshi up until he at least rivals his Soul Calibur form in strength and versatility. More stance transitions and better stance options would be a spiffin' start.
But how do you explain that in Soul Calibur Yoshimitsu can get from one stance into ALL another, but in Tekken he just can't? I have an impression that Namco doesn't pay attention to Tekken Yoshi. But in Soul Calibur he was thoroughly examined.
That's all!
I want respect for him, because he deserves it. He used to be a top character in Tekken 1,2,3 and Tag, but still required skill.
I just want Namco to think about Yoshi!
Tekken and Soul Calibur are two completely different games. I noticed that Tekken is mainly a game of true balance. You can't look at any character and say they are any more powerful then the next. With Soul Calibur 3 its all about buts. This character is powerful, but slow, or vice versa. Even the size of the character can be taken into account. Can't really say that about Tekken because every character is about the same size and every character is about as fast as every other one. That game is just mostly about technique only. Therefore a balance in every character is necessary.
Anyways my point being...the cuts for Yosh in Tekken were coming and Yosh in Soul Calibur may be extremely power, but sacrifices must be made to with him. Several of his better moves require the loss of life thus making it reasonable for him to be powerful.
Remember Tekken = balance and Yoshimitsu = unorthodox character

WTF!?!?!?!?
YOSHI IS GETTING TONED DOWN AND OTHERS ARE GETTING BETTER??THIS IS BALANCE??
OH GREAT, FIRST THAT RETARDED NAMCOCK MADE HIM A CLOWN IN SC2 AND A TOP TIER, BUT A WEAKLING IN T4, THEN THEY MADE SC3 BUGGY AND UNBALACED, AND NOW THIS!
Well, Namcock gets the retard of tha year award from me.
i think they're saving yoshi god tier for tekken 8, when HE KILLS EVERYONE!!! BWAHAHAH!!! but, for namco to rape yoshi in the game he was created in and give him top tier status in a game where mashers win tournaments, thats just STUPID!!!
We're talking about Yoshimitsu, not other characters. Please respect this rule. What makes me so mad? The fact that:
1. His NEW moves are constantly being toned down, like the newest DGF stance. Without any thorough thinking about the issue! I don't think DGF 3 after toning down will be safer, I don't think it will suddenly recover crouching... Yoshimitsu will receive another high risk-medium reward low move.
2. His staple attacks that were the same every tekken, suddenly are toned down!
- he had Pogo Rage since Tekken 3, and now suddenly it disappeared in Tekken 5?! Not to mention Soul Calibur Yoshi shamelessly RECEIVED this move under normal command, AND he has guaranteed launchers after it! Where's JUSTICE??!!!
- Yoshi's Sword Sweep remained unchanged in so many Tekkens, and now suddenly it got weakened?
- Flea Headbutt in SC3 hits mid, but in Tekken it hits high!
- DGF 1 in SC3 still stuns, but in Tekken it's suddenly toned down!
- SC3 Yoshi has full stance transitions whereas in Tekken Yoshi still can get directly from one stance to all other else!
I'm not asking for total overpowering him, but for giving him moves he should have a long time ago, and for keeping the standard, traditional moves in traditional form!
That's it. Yoshimitsu is strong in the current version of Tekken, but still requires skill. I don't think that Yoshi fans want him to be nerfed again!
No more Tekken 4 weakling!
Namco! Don't do that mistake again, or one day you'll have an angry bunch of Yoshi-fans awaiting you. Tone down the rest of the suckers, Yoshi has been squished enough!
You call thoose changes "ballance" ?? Then I have to tell you something ... you're wrong you will creat a crap not a new tekken. You won't achive anything but nerfing every good move like crazy !!!
NAMCO! how could you do something like that to the people playing Yosh? this is a litlle bit pathetic, because Yosh was weak in t5 and you made him evan more weak.. funny
