The BUNAC program previously available to United States citizens to go the United Kingdom has ended. In place of the same visa a different scheme was offered by the United Kingdom called the Youth Mobility Scheme.

In this scheme United States citizens between the ages of 18-30 with sufficient funds (1600GBP) without any dependents are allowed to work in the UK for up to two years.

There has been negotiation between the two countries, but the decision has yet to be announced.

This petition is to show that there is major interest in the Youth Mobility Scheme visa being available to the youth of the USA to go to the UK. Also, by showing this interest my hope is that it will sway the United States government to approve this visa.

Another great opportunity to make your voice heard is to write a letter or call your State Representative and the Department of Homeland Security. The contact information should be easy to find online.

I support this petition. I met my best friend in the world at a summer camp ive worked at my whole life. She came over to the USA through the camp america program and recently went to england and fell in love with London. I have a place to stay and all i need now is a chance to get a job, It would mean so much to me to have the oppurtunty to be able to go work over there even just for two years which the youth mobility Scheme can offer me.

I support this petition. My husband and I were planning on saving up so we could move to England for a year or two. We were hoping to experience all another country has to offer, from working, to the people living in it. We were both very dissapointed and a little suprised that the United States is not paticipating in the Youth Mobiliy Scheme. We are very hopefull though that this will change in the future.......near future. :)
