We the Youth Political Party of Canada (YPPC) believe that the federal voting age of 18 should be lowered to 16. Bill C-261 should be past because it's only to benifit Canada and it's people. By lowering the federal voting age you are giving youth the chance to take part and show interest in the Government and Politics. This will also increase their knowledge about politics which will help them in the future. Each year the voting turnout is decreasing by lower the voting age you will increase voter turn out and also remove voter apathy. We, as youth need to make a stand! We need to use our voice and speak on matters such as this, so please if your interested, please sign the petition. Thank You!

I am 53yrs. old. I have believed that 16 yr. olds should have the right to vote since I was 16. Youth have valuable opinions about the future they will be living in. They need to have a tool to shape that future.

The only way they should is if they take a test to make sure they know whats going on. im 15 and i believe i should be able to vote because i pay attention all the time but most dont and those dumasses who say its your duty are just causing the better looking one or the cooler one to be eleceted

16 and 17 year old students have close to, just as much or more knowledge about the goverment as most adults since we r educated in it at that age and it will provide a good base of learning for students in the real world!!!!
