I had a "pit" once and he was the BEST dog ever! He's been missing since 2003... I've known many good dogs in my life but few who would have not harmed a child who was using their private area to pull themselves onto a bed with!!! Petey my "pit" was such a gental dog that when my daughter acccidentally did this to him he simply looked up at me and whined as if to say "mama please make her stop!" he never even growled at my daughter despite the fact that she had his precious place all bent outa shape!!! NOW try to tell me that this dog was untrustworthy or viscous..... I've known many other pits and similar bullys alike who are very gental and friendly, Like any breed I'm sure there are some dogs who are dangerous but this is true for EVERY BREED and in fact several breeds are statistically more likely to bite a person... yet it seems to be the pit who gets the bad rap. I would like to see this chang...

ANY legislation that targets a "breed" of dog is aimed at the wrong end of the leash! The "problems with pits" or rotties, or dobermans, or German shephards, or... are Problems CREATED by PEOPLE SAY NO TO BSL!!!! Breed Specific Legislation is discrimintation. Not only is discrimination wrong, but when it comes to dogs, defining a "breed" as the problem will NEVER solve the real problem... Irresponsible Owners and Breeders are the real problem here, target them!!!
