Save Keele Public School Pool
Have you ever been swimming at March Break/ Christmas/Easter holidays? The pools are packed! Keele, Swansea and Annette all reduce their open hours and so everyone flocks to whichever one stays open. This makes for overcrowded swimming pools, too many cars (now everyone has to drive, instead of being able to walk to their local pool), and discourages those who are at reduced mobility to make the trip to a pool farther away. If Keele closes then this negative situation will become regular. Booo!Toronto is a rich city, well able to afford services such as community pools. Toronto also prides itself on its safe streets and neighbourhoods. Community centres are direct influencers in bringing together members of a community to work for the good of the whole. By keeping more swimming pools open, community members have a chance to regularly meet others in the same places where they live.
