I felt there was no real closure to the original; sure they saved the world, but I never found out exactly how. At first I thought there were exploring new arcs, but never really retook the original storyline again (for instance, what happened to the rest of the millenium items?). It just kept getting loonier and sidetracked. I undestand that you've got to showcase the GBA game versions in the series (Dice Monsters), and takes of one another; but make a whole new anime for one, WTF?! Also, there's no realm magic (just some mystically gay winged kuriboh), hence just mindless card trowing action; and finally, this shouldn't be named 'Yu-Gi-Oh', since there is no Yugi. Less cheesiness = less flavor, I guess.
