Hmm.. Whats wrong with electric guitars? They support a vast variety of music.. From Classical to The heaviest of heavy metal... I think without them, much of the music we have today would be completely gone. If you hate it so much, don't listen to it.. Put in some beethoven or something and you're guaranteed an electric guitar-free song. You choose what you listen to, so if you don't like electric guitar, you can listen to something else.. and when you said "nobody really wants to hear that crap" I can tell you that A LOT of people obviously do..
