You're right, we should leave the pledge alone. It was totally fine before Eisenhower changed it in 1954 and added that "Under God" nonsense, it should be left as it originally was.

We can't outlaw it, it's a way of thinking, if you outlaw it, you make martyrs of the people who do think like that, and the only thing you end up doing is recruiting for them. The best thing to do is to let them display publicly, and allow the public to be appaled by their hate. Most people aren't stupid enough to think like them in a normal circumstance, anyway.
