Bumblebee and the Volkswagen Bug (and beetle) are a few of the most well known and loved symbols of peace and freedom in American culture, and I assume, also in German culture and engineering! To remove VW of it's transformer associations would be the same as cleansing the people from the car. Allowing Bumblebee to remain an official Volkswagen is as harmful to the Volk today, as German Jews were harmful to the Volk 1933. Of all the things Volkswagen could deny its market, why choose this?
