If any of these unfounded, idiotic ideas were to make the way into my school, I'm sure their perpitrator would be shot. High School is supposed to be a learning experiance - and that means learning responisbility as well, and how to making your own choices, and drawing your own conclusions. If a student is failing, it should be up to THEM to decided what to to about it, not the staff. Breaking rules is punishible, and that punishment can be a learning experiance. But forcing kids to stay after for failing? The only thing they will learn from that is that they don't have to motivate themselves to get things done. School shouldn't be implemented because people want to get good grades. They're there for people to learn and mature, and become responsible for their own decisions.
