The AKC should be working to STOP the sale of puppies in so-called "pet stores," not encouraging such sales. These are just an extension of the puppy mills and are a horror for the poor puppies in their clutches. I sometimes think the worst thing my breed association (CKCS breed) did was to join the AKC.
