I support this petition because A Different World is one of my favorite tv shows of all times. It dealt with everything from possible teen pregnancies(Kim Reese) to date rape (Freddie) to racism (Whitley and Freddie at the jewelry store) (Dewayne and Ron at Homecoming game), even identy issues(Dewayne's childhood friend who suggested that he leave Hillman and join him at Penn State,Ivy League)(Freddie confronting a sister who opposed Affirmative Action). This show has tapped into the realities of even abusive relationships (Gina). These storylines have helped in ALL said circumstances. It's refreshing to stray away from realities of the world by watching a little fictional tv, but it's imperative as African-Americans to have more exposure to the real world.
