I was put on ativan and xanax for severe anxiety I was having over a percieved health issue. Over a period of months I started to get what I now know was interdose withdrawals and tolerance.When the health issue was resolved, I tried to stop taking these meds - I was told by the doc that at the dosage I was at I would not be addicted! Well I thought I was losing my mind and almost killed myself! By the grace of God I found help on the internet; I switched to valium and am presently doing a slow taper off this poison. Benzos are the devil and should not be handed out like candy to uninformed or misled patients!!!!!!
