I FULLY SUPPORT THIS!!! I am of an Italian heritage. When my grandmother came over she did not know much english, but she worked hard at for years and except when teaching Italian to others she speaks english in front of people out of respect for Americans, because she would expect that if we went there that we should be able to communicate in Italian. I think this should also apply in schools, this is not so much that they are stupid or don't know the language, it is that they are ignorant. They are somehow covered by a language discrimination law so that you can not even ask them to please speak English even if you know that they are quite fluent in it or you will receive repercussions. However, it is legal in a workplace environment to set a rule that english must be spoken in the workplace to keep harmony. We need to step down on some of these laws and stop giving every person that walks over the borders protection. We don't even protect our own people anymore.
