I'm a New-Zealander of Irish extraction, and am fully supportive of the Irish people's struggle for self determination. Britain has no busy maintaining a military presence in the six northern counties and should withdraw immediately. (I actually thought they had) I also believe it is time for the UN to intervene and would fully support any move by the Republican movement or its sympathisers abroad in taking Britain before the International Court of Human Rights for war crimes. Such as the cold blooded murder of my eldest daughter's namesake Mairead Farrell and her two friends in Gibraltar in 1988. Oneday it is my hope to tell my daughter (now 14) that her namesake's murderers have been brought to justice. This was a shocking, inhuman crime like many others visited upon our Irish brothers and sisters. Our day will come.

Absolutely. Our justice system has become a farce with more concern shown for criminals'rights than those of ordinary law abiding New-Zealanders. I also think we should have degrees of murder and the death penalty as an option for the very worst offenders.

Any judge who could treat a crime of this nature in so cavalier a fashion should be removed from the bench immediately. This is irresonponsible sentencing at its worst, and doesn't even begin to address what he subjected this little girl to. As the mother of two girls my heart goes out to her and her family. By signing this I want them also to know that they're not alone.

Here in New-Zealand we're in the middle of the first series of Commander in Chief and I'm loving it. It's quality smut free drama, with good values and valuable lessons to teach. Like her charachter Geena Davis is educated and has worked hard for her success. What a great role model she is for young girls. In life as well as on screen she shows how rewards come as a result of making the right choices. So ABC this petition has now gone international, so don't you dare cancel this Number 1 show!!
