this is proper rock: my chemical romance, trivium, bullet for my valentine, the romones, nirvana, blink 182, greenday, arch enemy, alkaline trio, fall out boy, every time i die, aiden, avenged sevenfold, cradle of filth, slipknot, metallica, iron maiden, ac/dc, bon jovi, nickelback, the sex pistols, wednesday 13, the murder dolls, aerosmith, guns n roses, the offspring and foo fighters. thats proper rock cant put all the names down cuz ill be here all day so MCFLY ARE NOT ROCK!!!!!! I like all them bands too, but I don't really see your point. So what if they're not rock. They have a right to have their own genre just like everyone else does. It's like saying because I don't like tomatoes they should be banished off the earth. (rubbish example i know) but it just annoys me so much that no-brainers think they have a right to slag people off when they haven't done ANYTHING to anyone.
