I do not support this petition. Those jitneys run far more frequently than the NJ buses do. They allow many who are financially less fortunate to get to work on time for less money. I too am a Fair Lawn resident and I have often had to jump on on one of those jitneys to make an appointment because the NJ Transit bus took too long. Granted there are a few drivers that should have their licenses revoked. However, you should not condemn all for the actions of a few. As far as the criminal activity ... most people who ride those buses are hard-working decent individuals. A criminal could just as easily jump on a regular bus and enter Fair Lawn. If a criminal is intent on engaging in criminal activity ... he will find a way regardless of what mode of transportation is available.
