Please do not refer this conflict as a war. It is a police action. Iraq posed no direct threat to the United States. George Bush took it upon himself take action against Iraq in retaliation for 9/11 because he could not capture the true persons responsible. He did this under the pretense of protecting freedom and liberating a people under tyrannical rule. And the additional pretense this nation possessed weapons of mass destruction. Even if they did, they made no declaration of direct hostility towards the United States. To do so would have been foolhardy and suicidal. We as a Nation know that the might of our forces would take days to completely destroy their country. We’ve seen the proof.
