Thats is because Sarah, the bible is 'authorised', it has been changed a number of times and will always be. The original areas of the bible where it mentions witches are a product of someone's paranoia, as the older versions read 'poisoner' rather than 'witch'

You have to remember that in countries such as America, there is a diverse religious culture. Maybe the author's believes in Christianity, but what of the atheists, Jews, Muslims, Sikhs, etc.? I do not follow the christian god for two reasons: 1) The old testament of the bible is a mixture of copied stories and fairy tales. 2) The christians refer to my god as a sea devil, when in truth he is the creator of mankind
