The impact of alternative schools drawing from a single cluster would be devastating -- both for children who would like to attend the best alternative school for them (which includes my pre-school daughter because we do not live in the TOPS area) -- and the children who are already attending TOPS and other alternative schools. The change in character of these schools would be huge, and to say the least disruptive to the educational process.
