I support this, because pits are good dogs. Punish the deed, not the breed. I've worked in the largest independantly owned vet hospital for 3 years....we have hundreds of pits every week. I can count on one hand the truly aggressive pits I have met. They are good dogs. It's people who make them bad.

The people who are trying to have pit bulls banned are unbelievable. I absolutely do not support your petition. I'm a veterinary technician and in the three years of working at the largest independently owned animal hospital in the US, I can count on one hand the number of pits that I've met that had to be muzzled. And only one of them was the truly aggressive dog, the others were terrified. Punish the deed, not the breed. It's the owners that make pits the way they are. If you want to ban a breed, ban a breed that has aggressive nature naturally. What about chow chows or char peis? I have never met one chow or char pei that hasn't tried to take my face off if I've gotten too close. Pit bulls are good dogs, but unfortunately they gained a bad reputation because stupid people used them as fighters because they have the strongest jaws of any other breed of dog.
