MAKE 911 TAPES AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC IMMEDIATELY

Hello-

BACKGROUND:
I was a victim of a convenience store robbery last weekend. I was able to get out of the store and ended up in a high-speed chase across town behind the robbers. As a result we got the car, the money, the gun and mask and the robber.

Later in the week I called the police station to request copies of the 911 tapes so I could recount the horror with my family members. I was told I needed a court order. I would also like to have copies of the store video but I feel I'll run into the same issue. HELP !!

PETITION:
To all State Judges, State Senators, State Representatives and State Attorney Generals-

Please make 911 tapes and store videos available to vicitims immediately upon verbal and/or written request.

We are in pain and these tapes will help get us back to our senses.

Sincerely,

M. Paul Bertram, MBA

my 15 year old son was hit by a car when riding his atv.my son died. the driver of the van said he called 911 at one of the neighbors house just n. of the accident. I contacted all those neighbors and he never went to anyones house. My son did't recieve medical attention for 50 min. after he was hit. we have 3 fire stations within 10 min. of the accident. I need to get the 911 tape to see what the driver said. So I can see why it took the response so long.

I do not understand why an individual who was involved in the incident cannot have access to the 911 tapes. This is wrong and needs to be changed.

If Mr. Bertram, who so valiantly risked his life to do the "right thing" as a human being, has a need to view the 911 tapes, of the events where he risked his life, to save God know how many people, then he should be allowed to view and hear the tapes of the events. Please releas the tapes to him, so that he may gain some sort of closure on this horrific event in his life.

Please Release the tapes of my brother helping to catch robber. If he would have not did this this man would still be on the street going form place to place robbing stores and maybe even kill a person. I belive that people should be able to see the tape of what happened.

I am surprised that a citizen who risked his life to help the cops in making an arrest by chasing down the robber and literally showing the cops where the bad guys went and yet, he is denied the access to the heroic deed he did to help catch the thief! Amazing system we have going here to make things so difficult for the honest & courageous person and yet our system is so easy for the criminals with laws that protect them from being prosecuted. For crying out loud, release the 911 tapes to all the victims and the hero if that is what they desire.

Release the tapes. As a family member I feel that the person going through this dramatic and horrifing ordel, it is imparitive for their emotional well being to hear what the have gone through. It would give them a better understanding of the event and bring closure of it.

Please release the tape. As a therapist I can tell you it is very important for people to have an opportunity to relieve the experience and process their feelings when they are no longer in danger.
