Support Candidates Fighting for ALL Catholic Value...

"At this time, some Catholics may feel politically homeless, sensing that no political party and too few candidates share a consistent concern for human life and dignity. However, this is not a time for retreat or discouragement. We need more, not less engagement in political life...

"The Catholic community enters public life not to impose sectarian doctrine but to act on our moral convictions, to share our experience in serving the poor and vulnerable, and to participate in the dialogue over our nation's future...

"The Word of God and the teachings of the Church give us a particular way of viewing the world. Scripture calls us to 'choose life,' to serve 'the least of these,' to 'hunger and thirst' for justice and to be 'peacemakers'...

"We urge Catholics to become more involved: by running for office; by working within political parties; by contributing money or time to campaigns; ...and other efforts to apply Catholic principles in the public square."
- Faithful Citizenship: A Catholic Call to Political Responsibility
 U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops

Sign this petition to join a new grassroots effort to find and support candidates at all levels of government who best represent the full Catholic vision for a better world.

So many Catholics are faced with the difficult task of choosing between candidates who support only isolated portions of their Christ-inspired vision for a more just world. This is because pro-life Democrats, Republicans with a preferential option for the poor, and candidates of either party who work for peace are often denied support from their own party and other traditional donors. But if we work together to encourage and support the candidates who best represent us, we can gradually bring about a better future in which more politicians at all levels of government work wholeheartedly for the common good.

The emerging organizing and information-sharing tools of the internet make this new movement possible. Please include your email address and include in your comment what you are willing to do to move this effort forward!

Christ teaches us to be forgiving and loving. He came here to help us and love us and sympathize with us. We MUST do this for each other. We must learn to love one another regardless of our differences. We must help one another regardless of our disagreements. We must support each other, our children and the whole Earth.

In Christ&#39;s Love,

I work with a advocate group for tenants in Hawaii which include the Micronesians displaced by the mistakes made by our military in the past but it is the fear what goes on today that makes me work continuosly with Island Tenants on the Rise (ITOR). We seek respect and justice for the poor and growing homeless in America. A stop to any more speculative creations of Destruction from any country is fatal to mankind and human existence as it should BE. A MORATORIUM to stop Nuclear or any further creations leaving a threat to the Earth and Universe should Stop.

I beleive that to fully follow the teachings of the Catholic Church, one must support the full gospel of life, for a full culture of life, which reflect support political position that deal with all of life, not thise who have yet to be born, and those who are at the end of their lives. There is life after birth and before death. The suggestion that a catholic must support only a pro-life candidates without considering the record of those candidates in regard to how much their positions are "pro-living" is to ignore a large portion of the entire culture of life that the Catholic Church supports. This also includes taking into consideration how these candidates vote on issues such as cutting funding to social programs for the poor and disabled, their position on capital punishment, a national health insurance that makes sure that no one dies due to lack of access to decent medical care, and other positions that deal with the culture of life from beginning to end. A candidate whose only position is to oppose abortion and euthanasia, while supporting the death penalty and large cuts to social programs which are the source of life to many of the most vulnerable in our nation. A candidate must embrace many if not all of the Church's concerns for a culture of life, not a few.

Today is a sad day. A woman lays in a bed, starving to death, going on Day 8. Babies everywhere are being thrown away. The disabled are regarded as pitiful. I'm sick of living in a society where only some are deemed worthy to live and others discarded. All life has dignity, and I'm disgusted by the politicians (like Kerry) who are brazen in the practice of their religion and don't have the gumption to stand up and practice what they claim to believe.

Separation of Church and State is important, but Church MUST come first! What good is supporting any polician, party, ideal, or issue, if we can't support God above all? Good work everyone, and keep the faith!

How is it that the party headed by the man who has signed more death warrants than any other modern governor and lied his way into a war that does not meet any standard of just war in Christian theology gets to call itself the pro-life party?
