		<title>Super Bowl and Church Parties</title>
		<link>http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/ChurchSuperBowl/</link>
<description>By signing this petition, I am asking the NFL to change it&amp;#39;s policy regarding churches that want to hold Super Bowl parties. Specifically, I am asking the NFL to treat churches no differently than bars by allowing them to show the Super Bowl on screens larger than 55 inches.

Before the Super Bowl in February of 2006, the NFL send a cease-and-desist order to Indy&rsquo;s Fall Creek Baptist Church, which planned to hold a Super Bowl party. In a nutshell, the NFL objected to the church&rsquo;s plans to use a 12-foot-wide projector, saying that the game can be shown on nothing larger than a 55-inch TV. Additionally, they only allow one television per audience. The NFL also objected to the unauthorized use of the NFL Trademarks in connection with the &ldquo;promotion&rdquo; of the &ldquo;Super Bowl Bash&rdquo; on the churches website.

While I recognize that it is the NFL&amp;#39;s legal right to protect it&amp;#39;s copyright, I believe that the NFL should give churches the same authorization that is granted to bars in regards to Super Bowl broadcasts. If the NFL does not change their policy, then I plan to boycott all companies that choose to advertise with the NFL.</description>
