Deaf people demand on Closed Captiong so the tv will telecast text on the tv screen what people are talking about. Since then, there are movies available on VHS, until DVD start popping up, mostly of movies you bought or rented aren't closed captioned. Did you feel the blockage becuase of no closed captioned? Dont waste your money that has no closed capitoned, time to fight back and demand for our rights, as you know ADA requires that TV show or DVD to be CC, no matter what. Thoses movie producers who are making millions of dollars and they do not care about providing closed captioned, by keeping profit of thier money so they can enjoy thier lives. It is our turn now, we need the help. They need to focus that Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in USA is growing and there are DEMAND! There is! This population segment may seek captioned programming as one way to enhance their mastery of English. Finally, the 2000 Census revealed that more than 18 million Americans are less than five years of age. Companies that simply produce videos or films for sale are not required to caption their videos, and commercial video stores are not required to have captioned versions of every video they stock. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act requires schools, colleges, libraries, and other recipients of federal financial assistance and federal agencies to make their communications accessible to and useable by persons with disabilities.
