http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/DanielandBetty/ On April 29, 2009, "Ugly Betty" executive producer Silvio Horta told fans at the Paley Center for Media that Daniel Meade and Betty Suarez have always had a brother/sister dynamic that he thinks precludes them from becoming a romantic couple. Due to this familial chemistry (which he says existed since the Season 1 pilot episode), Silvio believes that it "doesn't seem like the right thing to do" to make Daniel and Betty into a romantic couple someday. However, many fans who have been following "Ugly Betty" very closely for approximately the past two years have noticed things quite differently. We've seen enough evidence to indicate that Daniel and Betty have been anything BUT 'brother/sister'. In fact, they have gone from being complete strangers to becoming the best of friends. And with time, it's very possible (and believable) that Daniel and Betty could transition from close friendship to romance, based on many events from the show. And that's what this petition is about. If you watch "Ugly Betty" and love the possibility of seeing Daniel and Betty eventually becoming more than just friends, kindly sign the petition and let Silvio Horta and the other producers/writers know how much you love the idea. If anything, we'd like for them to know that there are MANY fans who (a) have supported this idea since the show's inception, and (b) are still very much hoping to see it happen eventually on the show. Of course, Daniel and Betty's close relationship is only one part of "Ugly Betty", but their relationship is truly the 'heart' of it all - where everything begins and ends. And what better way for the show to come full circle - than to have Daniel and Betty begin and end the show TOGETHER, right? ;) Thank you in advance to everyone who helps support this and gets the word out!
