Remake Final Fantasy 7 for PS2 (or PS3)

Most fans of the Final Fantasy series have seen the digitally remade version of the opening movie of Final Fantasy 7. You, like myself, may have originally thought that this meant that a full remake was coming, only to have all of your hopes and dreams crushed when you found out that it was just a PS3 tech demo.
Final Fantasy 7 is, almost inarguably, the greatest video game ever made. Unfortunately its graphics, while revolutionary at the time, pale in comparison to much lesser games that have come out since, such as Final Fantasy 10.
I believe I am not alone in saying that, if there were to be a full blown remake, I would lay down the money for a PS3, and buy several copies of it (one to play, and at least two to store in some deep dark place where they will stay in mint condition for years and years).

I support this petition. With Crisis Core for PSP I was extremely thrilled! Why can\'t this be done for the VII for PS2? I think it can! All FF fans will be thrilled as well.

I didn't mean that FF10 sucked, in fact it *was* quite epic in it's own right. But, anyone that tries to make the argument that it even compares to FF7 has never played FF7. My point was about the graphics, mainly.
