I prefer games where you have to think and actually use your brain. Nintendo makes great games like that. If you gave a game like Pikmin or Metroid Prime to someone who only runs around shooting things for no good reason, they would be overwelmed by the sheer difficulty and would stop playing before they even saved the game. In my opinion, games are measured by their gameplay, level design, artistic direction, and several other categories that the average gamer does not care about.
