In 2001, the Board of Education formally recognized gender equity in education. Quote: " The Board of Education fully recognizes that gender equity to all areas of activity extends the doctrine of fairness....a sense of moral responsibility in addition to duty to comply with the legal requirements on non-discrimination." It has been 12 years waiting, 35 years since the passing of Patsy Mink's Federal Law for gender equity.
