Although he tries hard, he is simply a b-grade journo that belongs somewhere else on the AM dial - somewhere like Robinvale I'd suggest. He is inarticulate, excruciatingly blokey (everyone's his 'mate' it seems), predictable, demonstrates a poor range of English expression ('fair enough' or 'sensational' he says every 30 seconds) and consistently fails to illicit what the listening public are dying to hear in interviews. Although he has improved from the days when he was shoving a microphone under K Sheedy's chin strolling across the G, he has a way to go. His program is to be complimented and I enjoy it greatly. However, his temporary replacement, the excellent Bruce Eva is a cut or three above Mr Doran in presentation, knowledge and diplomacy.
