Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

To: PC Gamers
As many gamers will tell you the Splinter Cell franchise has grown to be something of a cult phenomenon with it's fans.
However as many fans of Splinter Cells Chaos Theory game have been ignored as owners of the Nvidia 8 series cards have encountered a major problem with the Spies vs Mercenary portion of the game. The problem is as you play the game there is no dynamic/ambient/real-time lighting noticable.
As a spy you can hide in a pitch black corner only to discover that you are not really in a black corner but a well lit area in plain site of the enemy. This is a result of a powerful video card not working properly (or a driver problem).
As a mercenary you can not see well lit areas in certain stages and completly miss the enemy at times. Also the biggest gripe among SC:CT loyalist is the mercenaries no longer have the ability to use thier flashlights. In a game where lighting and shadows are your lifeline, such a problem is unacceptable and numerous attempts by SC:CT fans have gone unheard.
This effort is to have Nvidia and/or UBIsoft to work on a fix for this problem. We spent too much money on our games and hardware to accept this kind of treatment. I have for several weeks been trying to find a replacement for my Nvidia 8600GT in order to play the game correctly but anything else would either be too expensive or a downgrade on my hardware.

Thank you and I hope this works!

Sincerely,

Added On (2007-11-07):

It's unfortunate that a game is advertised to work best with Nvidia cards and you spend $200+ on a piece of hardware and it doesnt function correctly with one of our most played games.

I was considering upgrading my video card to 8600-8800, but I'm going to hold off until this problem is fixed. I want the best graphics I can get for any pc game I own, but don't make me choose between SCCT or prettier graphics.

My 8800 makes this game seem like it was released 2 years ago, but makes games who are still kept up to day by their manufacturer respond like a dream. Ubisoft is a nightmare when it comes to SC:CT
