This could also have a dramatic decline of people frequenting the beaches and cause businesses in those areas loose money. I have been holding bonfires on the bay for ten years now. We have never had trouble with others or the police, we always leave the beach cleaner than when we got there, and we use clean wood only. A bonfire at sunset is one of the most pleasent and relaxing things to do in San Diego, and everyone can afford to have one. Please do not take this wonderful thing that is open to all people, no matter what their income is. This is also a big draw for people visiting our city. Don't throw away the tourism dollars that this brings to San Diego.
