Let us reconsider the seasons... Season One : First steps at the CTU. Tony isn't supposed to have a so important role and yet, he is already of primary importance ! When Jack as some troubles, it's not George or someone else that Nina calls to help them but TONY ! The first time, which saves the life of the woman of Jack? TONY ! When JACK EAST ABOUT TO KILL Nina? who he listens and looks at??? TONY ! Season Two : Who directs the CTU when Mason should do it?? TONY ! To who Jack himself turns and puts his confidence when it takes again service??? TONY ! Who helps Jack and compromises himself for that ? TONY ! (... & Michelle !).And, by the way, it's undeniable that the story between Tony & Michelle begins to become important ! Season Three : On who the CTU still rests ? TONY ! and who Jack tries to help desesperatly ? TONY ! Considering him like a friend !!! Which is the story that becomes so important ? The one between TONY & Michelle ! Season Four : Who Jack calls to save his life ? TONY ! (The only person he can try right now). Who is the one that James Heller asks some help when everything seems to be lost ? TONY ! And even when there is a new director, who is the only one that can direct the CTU and save Jack ? TONY ! Jack puts his life in Tony's hands ! They never were so closed !!! He was his colleague and his FRIEND !!! Tony was as important as the first character himself !!! The producters were making the bigger mistake when they believed that Jack could be enough!!! We can deny that Jack is Jack, sure, but Jack alone is nothing !!! There was a duet in this series (and certainly a trio), cause... Tony is nothing without Michelle, sure, and above all... JACK IS NOTHING WITHOUT TONY 24 is nothing without Jack !!! When they decided to kill Tony, they killed the series in same time !!!
