http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/TUTV/ Until around the mid-90's (the time when Temple was trying to raise money to build the Liacouras Center), Temple University owned and operated a cable public access channel. Temple has one of the premeire schools of communication in the region, yet we are being outdone by smaller schools such as LaSalle and St. Joes. Temple needs to reinstate our cable TV station in order to compete with other schools in the area. Not only that, having a TV station potentially gives Temple access to over 350,000 of Comcast's subscribers. That's great for public relations and advertisment. Finally, Temple should have their own channel for the following reasons: it will support the SCT and BTMM curricula, it promotes public relations, and finally it creates a practicum for BTMM students that other things like just coursework and Temple Update are unable to offer. I have spoken to some faculty about this, and they said that they believe with our new President, they believe it could be potentially feasable. Please put your whole support behind this effort!
