Everything about it screams innovation: the controls, the focus on gameplay, the Wii Channels, heck, the design of the machine itself. Everything... except it's online. At first it seemed innovative, WiFi out of the box, the WiiConnect24 service, Virtual Console game downloads. Even the newly revealed (as yet un-confirmed, however) Mii Code frend networking system. Yet there's one MAJOR thing holding this entire set-up from possibly being the best on the market. And that is the lack of communication. It's just plainly a step backwards. As of the writing of this petition, there have been no announcements of any online games to utilize any form of communication outside of the Wii Message Board. And that is extremely limiting. We don't know if Nintendo is planning to or is allowing a third party to give us a headset of some sort or other way of allowing voice chat, but it's something that's DEFINITELY needed. So, even if maybe it's in the pipeline for future online games, since we have no idea whether it is or isn't, sign this petition if you think VOICE COMMUNICATION should be a part of the Wii online experience. This will show Nintendo of America, at least, just how many people think the lack of voice communication is a major hindrance of a potentially great system. The Wii's online gaming experiance would be all that much better with a voice chat option. The online play is great because I haven't encountered any lag in the games.
