Secondly, it is illogical to say "abortion murders babies", because by the definition of those words as widely accepted by our society, that is not what abortion does. More accurately, abortion "kills zygotes". Murder is defined as: unlawful premeditated killing of a human being by a human being. And if you say that the zygote is a baby, that implies it is a human. Well, what does it mean to be a human? Philosophically it is widely accepted that humans must have the capacity for independant survival. An abortion is supposed to occur before viability of the fetus. In other words, before it could conceivably survive on it's own. So, the point of my argument is this, I have no problem with people supporting the banning of abortion, for morality or other reasons. But, I do have a problem with them describing the process inacurately. When people are protesting a particular issue, it is so common to use the wrong terms in an attempt to raise the emotional credibility of their claim. And I think we can all agree that when people argue based on emotion, they become irrational and illogical, and in the case of so many pro-lifers, inacurately. So rather than trying to win your argument based off of untrue statements, why don't you argue another part of the issue that you feel is wrong, like the basic respect for all living things, or the disruption of the natural process of nature, or something like that. Even though I would still dissagree with your argument, I would respect your view more, because it would not be false.
