http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/banbslapbt/ More and more each day, American Pit Bull Terriers are ripped from their loving homes simply because of what breed they are and how they look. This is unfair and Un-American. This goal of this petition is to make our government as whole realize that this is wrong and racism, and for them to stop the un-necessary deaths of this breed we have come to care for and love so much. Over a thousand American Pit Bull Terriers each day are sentenced to death just because of what breed they are. It does not matter to the government that the dog saved its elderly owner from a fire, or that the dog is a handicapped assistant. All that matters to them, is that this dog is an American Pit Bull Terrier or Pit Bull type dog..and that it needs to die for no reason. The statistics in America give us a good look at what's really killing Americans with number one being Cigarette smoke inhalation, 2nd hand smoke, murder, and even over 2,000 children a year are murdered savagely by their own parents. People can and will be bitten by dogs, no matter what breed it is. This problem lies with poor ownership, and through this petition, I want all legislators of all states, all cities to receive this petition and realize that what is going on is WRONG. I also want them to start putting the blame where it is due, to the irresponsible owners, who torture these dogs, fight them, and even kill them. Did you know that when I worked with shelter groups, I even saw a Pit Bull Terrier come in torn apart and had BATTERY ACID dumped on it with its bones showing and flesh eating away simply because the dog would not fight?? And even though the dog was in immense pain, did not growl or attempt to bite anyone. America..please put the blame on people..not these dogs. Dogs cannot sin, but Humans can.
