California Gas Price Cap

This petition is to protest gas prices and is a call to limit gas prices in the state of California to no more than $3.40 per gallon. We call that the only way gas prices could go above $3.40 per gallon would be a long lenthy legislative review, including a written statement from a coalition of oil companies saying why they would need to raise the price (which would be a letter to the Legislature of California, an estimate which would state close values of what the companies profits and where the rest of the money would go to, and and a petition caliing to do so signed by the appropriate people). We, as citizens of California, feel that this gas price increase is unfair, espically to Californians.

We call for this because of the reasons stated below:

1) California has the highest gas prices in the nation. We feel that the gas companies treat California unfairly in pricing of gas. See the website below.

http://www.losangelesgasprices.com/Price_By_County.aspx?state=CA

2) Gas companies have new record profits every year. We feel that this is a result of the gas companies are taking advantage of the average American public.

3) California has the most drivers of any state in the union and because of that, we feel that the gas prices should be lower in California than in any other state. The gas companies would make the same profit as they would in another state because the amount of cars in California would balance out the lower gas price.

Thank you for your time in reading this and thank you for your support.

I absolutely support this petition. In fact the maximum cost per gal should be no higher than 3.00 per gal. Not only in California, but in all 50 states.
