When the votes were tallied and the results announced, Stephane Dion was not named Prime Minister. Why not? Because 74 per cent of voters -- 10 million people -- decided to vote for someone other than their Liberal candidate. Now Mr. Dion claims to be the leader of a 62 per cent majority. How is it that after receiving a meager 26 per cent, Dion claims to have the support of 62? Only 13 days after Parliament had begun session, Dion announced that he had cooked up a deal with the NDP and the Bloc to form a coalition and defeat the government. Did Liberal voters know that Dion was going to use their votes to prop up the socialist NDP and the separatist Bloc? No. During the election campaign, Dion repeatedly denied that he would form a coalition. Did NDP voters and Bloc voters know that their votes would be used to support Dion's vain quest to become the Prime Minister? No. If they wanted Dion as Prime Minister, maybe they would have voted for him. What changed between Election Day and now? Stephane Dion and the Liberal Party received 26 per cent of the vote. 74 per cent of Canadians voted against Stephane Dion. Stephane Dion is not our Prime Minister.
