Hermogenes Esperon Must Resign! http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/esperonresign/ To our Representatives in all branches of the Government of the Philippines, to our fellow Filipinos, and to the world:<br /><br />We, the undersigned, hereby request that <strong>Secretary Hermogenes Esperon, Jr.</strong> to immediately resign as <strong>Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process</strong> for incompetence and unprofessionalism in threatening <strong>North Cotabato Vice Governor Manny Pi&ntilde;ol</strong> that their province would be left unprotected once they get a <strong>Temporary Restraining Order</strong> (TRO) on the <strong>Memorandum of Agreement</strong> (MOA) between the Philippine Government and the <strong>Moro Islamic Liberation Front</strong> (MILF).<br /><br />This is against the law and against his oath in serving as Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process.<br /><br />He has failed on inform the Filipino people about the MOA by dismissing public consulation on this matter. He has used the strategy of secrecy, bullying, and face-spitting in pursuing this MOA that would alter our national territory and surrendering a part of it to the MILF that would form into a <strong>Bangsamoro Juridical Entity</strong> (BJE).<br /><br />This is not the right way in pursuing a peace agreement. Every stakeholder of the matter should be informed and support the MOA, not just a group of people. By disregarding them, the MOA would just be another piece of paper that would do nothing to end the internal strife in Mindanao.<br /><br />For all of the above reasons, Sec. Esperon has more than demonstrated that he is unfit to exercise the powers and responsibilities as the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process: he has orchestrated an outright betrayal of the Philippine Constitution and its people.<br /><u><strong><br />RET.
