We understand that many people are afraid of their child being targeted by pedophiles online, and that many teachers have been caught in affairs with students of the past several years. However, if a student and teacher wish to be friends on a social networking site they should be able to. Students can communicate quickly and efficiently through social networking chat programs to resolve problems and ask for help. Not only this, but having an adult as a friend on a social networking site keeps teenagers responsible for what the put on their pages. Most teens wouldn't post inappropriate pictures or say inappropriate things if a teacher is able to see it. In reality, students are really safer and better off with teachers as friends on social networking websites than off on their own able to do whatever their hearts desire.
