Should burning of the United States flag be outlaw...

I'm doing a project at school on the 1st amendment of the constitution and was worndering about this issue. Does flag burning take freedom of speech too far? I mean think about it. If they started banning this, before we know it, were losing constitutional rights by the week. Where would it stop? I just wanted some other opinions. I myself do not think this is moral. However I do think it is important that our freedom of speech isnt affected. (Please no bad language. This is a serious issue, so dont ruin it with your mindless vulgarity)

I do not believe that flag burning should be legal. Whoever had the thought that burning a flag as a proper right is either from another country or has crap for brains. I was in the Military for over 10 years and this flag you want to burn IS a symbol of liberty and freedom to me. Now if it is not a similar symbol TO YOU, then you should find another country that either accepts retardation and tolerance OR move to a country that exhibits violence against any liberties or freedoms. When comes down to it, people from other countries that see our flag, look at it as a symbol of freedom from presecution from their countries and they would move high heaven to get here. One reason is they can do something fundamentally necessary, they can make a difference in others lives. It is a sad day when another country sees our idiots who burn this country's flag and says that they are protesting our countries leaders. Get the hell out if you can't handle a democracy. If you remember, the British didn't have much time here when we wanted to make this country a wonderful democracy. We are suppose to honor this flag as a representation of our freedoms and the freedoms of those we helped throughout the ages. If you do not know, go back to school or read a book on our country and its struggles. That is why U.S. Flag burning is an outright slap in the face to democracy and the country in where we live. I know that all the military boys and girls look to the flag as a symbol of hope in any location of the world because we all help out one another. If you can't see that then you should go up and slap a U.S. Soldier in the face and tell them how you feel about this country. The military is protected by law, just as the flag should be. If you still don't see some truth in this message, then you should move to Canada or Mexico because there is no place for people like you in my country. Idiots!!

The americans who want to ban flag burning are more conserened with the symbol than the fredoms it represents. Whats the point in honoring the flag if you can&#39;t destroy it? the aful thing about laws that ban flag burning is that they are destroying the ideals that they think they are trying to protect

Why should it be illegal? It&#39;s not physically hurting anyone... part of what makes this country so great is the freedoms it allows. As offended as I am to see a burning US flag, I can&#39;t possibly condemn it - the right of ordinary citizens to burn a flag in protest is part of what makes this country what it is - and I&#39;m proud to be a citizen of a country so tolerant.

I once heard this quote: "If you want to burn our flag wrap yourself in it first."

Yes, burning the American flag should be outlawed all over the world.

I think that people should have the right to burn flags. I beleive that there are other, more civil ways to protest and show what you believe but if someone wishes to burn a flag they should have that right.
