http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/forthechildren/ Children have rights, and a voice and should have the freedom to use their rights and their voice. Our "Justice system" dont listen to the children. They make the children relive these horrible things that have happened to them while the accused just sits there and watches. The accused has all the rights in the world. "innocent until proven guilty" So that basiclly means the children are guilty. These children are afraid to come forward about what has happened and when they do, they are torn apart from the courts and re-traumatized. The children should not have to take the stand. The children should only have to speak to the judge alone or through video. not in a courtroom that is intimading and scary for anyone, especially a child. The child should be believed by the courts The children shouldnt feel as if they did something bad by telling the truth. The children need us to stand behind them and make it ok to tell the truth....and ok if in time their memory of the events changes somewhat. or they remember more about the incidents. They are afterall only children. Why are they the ones being punished for doing the right thing and the guilty walk away. We as parents have seen first hand what this has done to our child. And it makes me sick to my stomach at how she was treated by the courts and pushed aside and what she said had no relevance. This needs to stop. No more children need to be hurt by the "justice system" anymore help us put an end to this. This petion is to help protect future children having to go through the courts. They to will suffer for telling the truth. Lets make sure that doesnt happen anymore.
